Bitget: how to create API keys
Bitget is a popular cryptocurrency exchange platform that has been operating since 2018 with over 45 million registered users. Bitget offers trading for over 500 trading pairs including margin trading and futures trading.
In order to connect your Bitget account to TabTrader you’ll need to link your API keys in the Portfolio section.
If you already have a set of API keys, this article explains how to add your API account to TabTrader.
The following article will provide you with step-by-step instructions on creating API keys on Bitget.
How to create API keys
Log in to your Bitget account.
Once you're logged in, click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
From the drop-down menu, select "API Keys".

Click the “Create API key” button to start creating your new API key.
Select "System-generated API key".

Enter a note and set a passphrase, - it can be any phrase of your choosing.
Memorize this passphrase!
You’ll need it when connecting this API key to TabTrader.
Enable all the necessary permissions for your API keys to read-write:
Futures, Spot, Margin, Wallet, Taxation, Sub-accounts.
Optionally, for mobile apps you can also restrict your API key to specific IP addresses. Enter your trusted IP addresses in the provided field "Bind IP addresses". If you don’t have a static IP address, you shouldn’t enable this option.
To proceed, click "Next" at the bottom of the "Create new API key" window.

This will open the security verification window.
- Click "Send". A 6-digit code will be sent out to your associated email.
- Place the code in the "Email verification" field.
- Enter your 2FA 6-digit code and click "Confirm".
- New Access API Key and Secret Key will be generated for you.
Copy and save these keys.
Now you’re ready to add these keys into TabTrader.
Keep your API keys safe and never share them with anyone.
